It feels a little like Fall

Wow, the first few days of cooler temperatures has arrived.  It feels fantastic!  As my 3 year old Madison says, “It’s  chiwli,”  with a delighted grin on her face.  Along with fall comes the great family session event, as I like to call it.  This is the season which many clients love the best and want to capture images of their family wearing adorable layers of clothes in snuggly scenes.  It’s the time of year we imagine ourselves starting to feast on warm soups and stews along with yummy hot chocolate on chilly days.  Yay, us!  I can’t wait to photograph the lovely families that are on the books.

Halloween is also right around the corner.  We are certainly all busy picking out what we want to be for Halloween.  Madison is all set since her beautiful costume from last year fits perfect this year.  This year instead of being a pirate lady she’ll be a princess with it!   Last year Blake was a pirate, but this year he wants to be some kind of superhero!   Here is an image of the twins from last years Halloween dress up mini sessions.

Speaking of Halloween sessions…  It is definitely that time of year and it is time for you to schedule yours.  Give me a call or send an email to set up your appointment.  919-585-6433 or shannon@lifelongimpressions.com

Cute girls all dressed up

On a sad day of remembrance when most of us reflect {I definitely did} on where we were when devastating news of the 9/11 attack on our country, we had a great day of celebrating girlhood.  As with Memorial day when most of us spend the day relishing family and friends in celebration of our lives, we made sure to live and be happy today!  The weather cooperated so beautifully with a lovely soft cloud cover and a comfortable temperature.

I arrived early to meet my Design Consultant, Melissa, and Christine, the owner of Buttons and Bows, to get everything set up.  It’s amazing how many tutus and other props it takes to make an event like this successful.   All the supplies, backdrops, props, displays and computers took up about 10×50 feet in front of the store.  It was all worth it to be part of the joy of dressing up & the lifetime of enjoyment these images will bring to the families who came today.

Please enjoy this sampling of images from the shoot today.

You may have spotted my daughter in the sampling of images today.  I was so excited to have had the backdrop already set up that Guy brought the twinners up to Buttons and Bows for some shots.  We got some awesome images of them and three will be going up in their bedroom as soon as the order comes in!   Here are a couple more images of my kids from today.

This expression on Maddy cracks me up.

Love this of her looking off into the distance.  Madison saw an image of her tonight and got so excited to talk about how she had this hat on that she was stuttering while she screamed in excitement trying to tell me about it.  Both kids will run around the house all day putting any hat on they can find.  Though they definitely try to stay with girl hats for Madison and boy hats for Blake.

Blake saw this come on the computer this evening as I was editing.  He said, “Blakie Peek a Boo.”  Yes, indeed he was playing Peek a Boo with me, and I love how images trigger those memories in my kids.

I think they’ve grown a bit lately.  Both their pants are waaaay toooo short.  lol  I love this image of them playing together while I worked with them to get some great images.  If their pants weren’t so stinkin short this one would have made it to print for their room.

However, this one with her messy hair and all definitely made it!  I can’t wait to hang this image in their room.

Today was so much fun I plan on doing another special mini session day in October for HALLOWEEN!  I’d definitely suggest making an appointment as it will most likely be a very popular special mini session event.  We already booked several appointments today.  There will also be a great boys dress up special mini coming up soon!  {Hint: Think of a job every boy wants to do at some point during childhood… You’re probably right.}
