FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions {FAQ} – Let’s find out!  Please don’t hesitate to contact me for any questions you have.  It is a pleasure to help

  1. What is your photography style?   My style is lifestyle with some inspiration and posing.  There is no comments like “go over there and have fun together” or “sit perfectly still in this exact spot, now smile” as this will not help you feel comfortable nor bring out your wonderful personalities and family connections.  Instead, we talk and have fun as I get you in pretty light to find those genuine interactions and moments in images.
  2. What is your photography super power?  It is my ability to connect with people and snap my shutter at moments where the real personality and life of a person shows through in the images.
  3. Can I choose my own location?  Yes, I would love to hear about a location that inspires you.  If it is at home, your favorite park, a field of green, downtown vista or anywhere else, we’ll plan your session to capture your family in a meaningful way.
  4. Does time of day matter?   Yes and No.  It all depends on your location and the type of light and family time we are capturing.  Often the golden hours of sunrise and sunset are the best for providing a lot of flexibility in using most of the location selected.  During the rest of daylight hours less of locations have really nice light, but that doesn’t mean we can’t use them if your family needs require other times of day.  We can always find a location that works for any time of day.
  5. Do you have a studio?  Yes, I do have a studio space in my home located off hwy 50 in Garner, NC.  This is a great option to have as a backup or to have a blank canvas so your family and the connections are absolutely the main focus in all the images.
  6. How many pictures do we get & do we see them all?   For a mini session there are 20-23 images and a full session has more then 50.  I take a lot of images throughout the session and pick the very best ones for your family.  The finals are the ones that capture the moment, the expressions, the connections and your story.
  7. What should we wear?  I have two Pinterest boards and am also happy to talk about your wardrobe selections and review your choices.  How you dress definitely conveys your lifestyle, personalities, current styles and how comfortable you all will be.
  8. Can I buy digital images?  All of the session packages include the digital images as I feel they are important to hang onto and have as a family.  I’m also a HUGE supporter of encouraging all clients to put them up on the wall and do a Family Album with them.  My kids absolutely love to sit down and look at the photo albums from our sessions and remember the details of that time in our life.
  9. What should I do about displaying images when my walls are full?  Our strategy has been to cycle wall prints we are updating into the bedrooms.  The kids practically fight over which ones go into their rooms.  They also proudly show their friends.  Our daughter said just last month, “Man, I really miss baby Landon.  He was just soooo cute.”
  10. When should I book?  There is no time like the present unless you have a favorite season you really want showcased in your images, all of them make for interesting backdrops.  Some times of the year book up quickly so I recommend booking early for Fall and Spring.  Check in, even at the last minute though as you never know if a time is available just for you.
  11. How does the booking process work?  Contact me by the internet, email or phone to start the process.  We’ll chat about any questions you have, the timing and location.  Once a date is booked, I will send you a portrait agreement, questionnaire and invoice.  Half of the package fee is due upon booking and the remainder by the session date.
  12. What happens after the session?  I will send you a link to your gallery with a digital download within two weeks of the session date.  You can also order great professional lab prints for gifts and the wall, gallery wrapped canvas and, of course, a fabulous custom Family Album can be yours.
  13. What is the investment?  Session packages start at $385 for a mini session and $585 for a full session, including the digital images.
